Fear

hidden pain - flickr by a visual invasion

Give her a reason to forget the past
And make her believe that something can last
Tell her why she should let go of the fear
And let her know that she’d cried her last tear

She suffers in memories of the pain
Knowing only the tears that fall like rain
Still feeling each blow that took her belief
And left her lying shattered in the grief

She tries to get up but she’s pulled back in
Crushing her hope that she can ever win
So give her reason to believe this time
That she’ll be safe when from this hole she climbs

Days Gone By

She looks at what she’s become
At all she’s built that’s come undone
Memories still linger on
Of the days that are long gone
Of a life that she could not keep
She sees now only in her sleep
But still each day she puts on this show
How broken she is they’ll never know
She’ll smile and pretend everything’s right
But behind closed doors, tears still fall each night

The Battle Within

Upon her face the tears will glisten
It’s to her heart that she must listen
All the logic within her mind
Tells her to just keep playing blind
But her heart aches, it longs to be free
And dreams of all it has yet to see
So the battle within wages on
To hold her ground or should she move on

When

Weakness I hide, only strength will I show
My pain and suffering you’ll never know
I’ll keep on the mask, maintain the façade
With head held high, face your firing squad
I’ll be there to save you any way I can
But who will save me, where is my superman?
When will I feel safe to let my tears flow
When will it be ok to just let go

Reaching Out

Her timid hand reaching out
Tremble with lingering doubt
But in the dark a sigh she hears
As she fights back a flood of tears
Fingers touch upon his skin
And all her fears fade within
Another sigh escapes his lips
And back to sleep she slowly slips
Into dreams of brighter days
Nightmares fade into the haze

Second Glance

Eyes as deep as the ocean floor
Always seeking, looking for more
Full of wonder, but full of doubt
Always looking for a way out
The seek solace and they seek peace
Within this life they seek release
Pain and suffering all around
And there’s so much hope that has drowned
They see all the world can do
And they shed a tear at the view
But they wait, give another chance
The world’s not seen in just one glance

Be Her Safe Haven

Let her cry if the tears need to fall
Let her release the pain of it all
Just hold her close as the tears flow down
So that she knows that she will not drown
Though you can not erase her pain
Just be the life boat in the rain
Shine a light that is bright and true
So she’ll know where she can turn to
Be her safety from the storm
And her pain you can transform

Hide My Tears

How she wishes for tears from the sky
To hide those that she so longs to cry
So that there are none who would see
That her soul holds such tragedy
But though tragedy exists within
It’s balanced by light that’s always been
The light at times may not be seen
Or may at times be just a sheen
But trust that it will never go out
Despite the tears she may cry in doubt

Lifelike

She isn’t real
She needs to feel
She can’t be real
If she can’t heal

Soon she will fade
The price is paid
Her soul will fade
From mistakes made

She disappears
Into her fears
She disappears
Behind her tears

Tears From Above

She feels no sorrow, feels no pain
As she looks out into the rain
For as she listened to it drum
Her heart was slowly growing numb
The glass that now feels cold to touch
Mirrors her heart so very much
For as the rain ran down those panes
Her tears would become only stains
Down her face they no longer fall
Let the skies weep for one and all
