So I mentioned in a previous post that my son ran across some of my old poetry in a notebook.  I unfortunately seem to have “misplaced” all my old poetry from high school, but my kid did give me the ones he found in this notebook from my college days.

So I’ve decided to share them.  They are from about 6 years ago and there only 4.  It looks like a couple aren’t complete, but I will finish them before I post them.  To be honest, I wouldn’t mind writing some new stuff, it’s really good therapy and a great art form to release emotions.  Maybe finishing and posting these will inspire me to write poetry again!

My gf somehow stumbled upon an old poem I wrote waaayyy back. I was… Well… Mortified? I hid it and went on about not wanting anyone to read my work. Eventually, I told her she could read it, but not in my presence. She ended up really liking it, and asking me where the rest is. Crazy, coming from her – a songwriter.
It’s funny how things pop up after we’ve forgotten about them.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I always turn to poetry. I used to write a lot back in school, but I don’t have the time to write anymore 😦 I like reading yours.. they rhyme, and I’m *very* biased towards poems that rhyme 🙂 They’re very good. Hope to see more x
