Once again I disappear
Behind a mask, hide my fear
Let no one see what’s inside
The deepest truth’s, try to hide
Sadness I’ll hold deep within
Show no tears upon my skin
Wear no heart upon my sleeve
Though in my chest it will heave
There’s no weakness I will show
Where to hit they will not know
But can I keep this charade
How long till it starts to fade

jaded, the brave are always wise enough to fear. We must “put on the whole armour of God”–His armour deflects all flaming arrows of hatred and prejudice and indifference. Congratulations on writing a most polished poem expressing the fear almost everyone strives to hide in order to survive.

The masks are made
Of hopes and things
That shield us from
The outside world
Our masks are made
Of dreams and pain
That change our face
And steal our name
I understand these expressions. Thank you
