Dark clouds rolling across the sky
Reflecting all that’s in her eye
Lightning that strikes is all her rage
That she keeps locked within a cage
But that cage is about to break
Leaving destruction in its wake
And all of her rage will flow free
But only sorrow will you see

Broken Cage
Fear
Give her a reason to forget the past
And make her believe that something can last
Tell her why she should let go of the fear
And let her know that she’d cried her last tear
She suffers in memories of the pain
Knowing only the tears that fall like rain
Still feeling each blow that took her belief
And left her lying shattered in the grief
She tries to get up but she’s pulled back in
Crushing her hope that she can ever win
So give her reason to believe this time
That she’ll be safe when from this hole she climbs
Without Fear
She no longer fears the darkness
She embraces all the madness
And within her heart the pain will fade
As this heart of stone is slowly made
Falling over the edge of sane
Letting go of the broken chain
No longer tethered to a world so cold
She is finally free of its icy hold
A Thousand Times
She walks through life pretending it’s not real
Shutting down her heart so that she won’t feel
But broken pieces will try to mend
Though they will always fail in the end
For they’ve been broken a thousand times
Their jagged edges all that defines
The path of her life and what remains
A future that’s bleak and bound in chains
Beast Within
There’s a monster she hides deep within
It holds the pain of all that has been
But it begs to be set free
For the world to finally see
With teeth and claws it rips and shreds
And it brings to light all she dreads
The beast within her is now awake
The peace it gave her it now will take
Judge and Jury
You are my judge, you are my jury
You condemn my life without worry
But when you look in the mirror, what do you see?
How can you think you are so much better than me?
I make no excuses for the things I do
I am who I am, I am better than you
Because I won’t judge the life that you lead
We are all human and we all will bleed
Solitude
Alone and cold, lying on the floor
She no longer sees an open door
The silence hangs all around
As she lies there on the ground
But darkness holds no fear in this place
And this solitude she will embrace
Divided
Dreams and hopes that once filled her head
Have been replaced by fear and dread
Though in her heart love still resides
It sits broken by the divides
Bridges have been made in the past
But none still stand and none will last
The divides widen day by day
In the maze she has lost her way
Hollow
She opens the door, invites it in
This lonely girl with the palest skin
The hollowness within grows each day
And so she will beg for it to stay
To help fill this void that’s inside
This emptiness that she can’t hide
To stop this numbness that overtakes
And to once more feel a heart that aches
She’ll embrace the misery and the pain
She’ll invite it in and she’ll let it reign
