Inside of her mind she tries to scream
As tears on her face begin to stream
But no sound is uttered from her lips
The breath from her chest this moment strips
Suffocating, she falls to her knees
As strength from her body quickly flees
The moment passes, panic subsides
But the dull ache within still resides
A deep jagged breath she slowly takes
As the nightmare fades and she awakes
Words unspoken as their eyes meet
Kisses so soft that taste so sweet
Lingering there a moment more
Causing a shiver to her core
A gentle stroke across her cheek
And she is left trembling and weak
Holding her close, this gem so rare
Fingers tangled within her hair
See in her eyes a love so deep
That is now his to hold and keep
I don’t have much, but I’ll give you my all
On the promise that together we’ll fall
Give me your heart and I’ll give you mine
And what we’ll have no one can define
Deeper still we will tumble down
In each other’s eyes we can drown
And never will we look back
For there’s nothing that we’ll lack
Walk with me through darkened streets
Off the path of life’s deceits
We’ll walk in shadows out of sight
With no betrayal by the light
We must keep hidden our heart and soul
From all the hate that would take its toll
It lingers in alleys that we pass
And stares so hard through the window’s glass
Seeking a glimpse of where we might be
Silhouette could betray easily
So be sure to stay where shadows fall
And listen not to it’s tempting call

His fangs so long, glow so bright
As they are bared to the light
They are strong and they are fierce
Into your flesh they will pierce
Across forked tongue flames will roll
Inside lives a darkened soul
His wings now spread open wide
Your fear quaking deep inside
Upon your knees you await
Which death will become your fate
Will it be by glossy teeth
Sharp as sword pulled from its sheath
Or by claws that rip and tear
With anger that will not spare
Would the fire now consume
Bringing forth your certain doom
And those wings that blot the sun
Surely show your death’s begun
For your trespass you will pay
This will be your dying day
See the beast you stand before
And hear now the dragon’s roar
Lean in close and listen well
To secrets I dare to tell
About my life and my story
And my rise and fall in glory
In all my words I will share
All I have within to bare
My true soul I will let you see
I will not sit by quietly
So read my words if you dare
And walk now into my lair
If only you could see her now
To her newfound strength you would bow
Such a light she now holds within
That grew in the dark that had been
Eclipsing her soul for a time
In such a way that was a crime
Never should she have to hide
The love she holds deep inside
Through the world it can now be spread
To other souls that lightly tread
This light within, she shares a piece
To all of those who seek release
Guarding her heart with ferocious intent
Defending her soul from further torment
He stands stoically poised at the gate
Smoke wrapping round his wings will soon sedate
If any approach it’s flames he’ll breathe
His razor-sharp claws he will unsheathe
He will protect her till the end
Giving her sweet heart time to mend
I will not fade away
My presence here to stay
I will not be unseen
Hidden behind a screen
I will not hide in shadows
The light of my heart still glows
I will not run away
For fear of the next day
I will not let fear win
A new life can begin
I will not let hate rule my heart
Its poison would rip me apart
Hope lives on within this heart
That one day healing will start
This shattered heart will some day mend
And to loves sweet grace it will bend
To once again hold someone tight
With these arms and through the night
Kiss him sweetly in the morning light
And with his caress my heart takes flight
