There’s a monster she hides deep within
It holds the pain of all that has been
But it begs to be set free
For the world to finally see
With teeth and claws it rips and shreds
And it brings to light all she dreads
The beast within her is now awake
The peace it gave her it now will take
She longs to be wanted
And no longer haunted
By loneliness and fear
That are always so near
To be free of these chains
Their heaviness that drains
Walk away from the dark
That weighs down her dear heart
The flames consume all in its way
Making the night as bright as day
But the fire is nothing to fear
Though you feel the heat as it draws near
Watch as it dances in the sky
Finding such freedom there up high
Moving and swaying without a care
Breathing and sighing in the night air
Don’t live your life hiding in ice
These flames of love may not come twice
So in your heart let the fire burn
And in your soul let freedom return
She still stands, stronger than you thought
Though not the outcome that you sought
For any challenge she will always rise
All those that urge her to quit she defies
She’s not your puppet led by strings
Not your slave or one of your things
And when all that she is you fail to see
Deep in her heart she will set herself free
The greatest gift you just let slip
Through your fingers and from your grip
And with another she will finally find
True passion exists for her heart and mind

No hiding behind a shroud
Oh how she aches to be free
From all of life’s tragedy
To grow wings and fly away
Into skies not touched by gray
Where she could soar way up high
Touch the sun that lights the sky
Visit the moon and the stars
Have them erase all her scars
Feeling freedom on her face
As she finally takes her place
Among the clouds, soft and white
Where she can dance with delight
But she wakes and finds again
