Whispers

Your voice resonates in my mind
Softly ringing and unconfined
So many words are still unspoken
Longing for that lock to be broken
To hear all those words that you write
As I see your face in new light
To feel your touch and know you are real
To know you share everything I feel
By the look shining in your eye
And lips releasing that soft sigh
When you pull me close and whisper low
That from my eyes no more tears will flow
You make my heart finally whole
Starting a fire within my soul

Walk with me through darkened streets
Off the path of life’s deceits
We’ll walk in shadows out of sight
With no betrayal by the light
We must keep hidden our heart and soul
From all the hate that would take its toll
It lingers in alleys that we pass
And stares so hard through the window’s glass
Seeking a glimpse of where we might be
Silhouette could betray easily
So be sure to stay where shadows fall
And listen not to it’s tempting call

Choices Made

A smoky haze filling her mind
And it leaves her feeling blind
Struggling to see the path to take
Conflicted by decisions to make
Which path would lead her to the light
Which one leads to eternal night
And which path is it she should choose
Either way there’s something to lose
Lose her heart or lose her soul
Choices always take their toll
She’ll close her eyes, leave it to Fate
To choose a course that’s true and straight

Freedom

Finding within myself the strength to fight
Against the chains of fear binding the light
That burns within my heart and in my soul
Seeking freedom to feel despite the toll
To allow my heart to fly once again
Keep it open to chance despite the pain
To again take those leaps of faith into the unknown
To be fearless once more in places no path is shown
Freedom from this dreary existence I seek
Fighting against all in life that has turned bleak
