Dreams and hopes that once filled her head
Have been replaced by fear and dread
Though in her heart love still resides
It sits broken by the divides
Bridges have been made in the past
But none still stand and none will last
The divides widen day by day
In the maze she has lost her way

Divided
Dreaming
She closes her eyes and begins to see
All of those things she wishes could be
To be held so tight and held so dear
To know that love is always so near
To feel that kiss that reaches so deep
To know that her heart someone would keep
Safe and sound and free from all harm
Free to succumb to all his charm
But the dream will always disappear
And she’ll be left with nothing but fear
The Bitter Cold
She closes her eyes seeking relief
Longing for the poison of belief
But into her veins with an icy grip
The bitterness of life will slowly slip
Taking control of her heart so true
Changing it to such an icy hue
And the coldness reflects behind those eyes
Her fire has met its final demise
Into The Vortex
She’d rather be numb than feel the pain
And never feel the cold of the rain
From all of the storms that are yet to come
That do their best to make her succumb
So within her heart a vortex forms
And it will consume as it transforms
This heart once on fire to solid ice
But this new future will not suffice
To give up the pain she gives much more
All the happiness that was in store
Salvation or Damnation
A simple touch that can take my breath
And give all my doubts a bitter death
Longing for the feel of your skin
Silently begging deep within
The trace of your fingers upon my arm
And all of my defenses you disarm
The taste of your lips upon my own
Sweeter than anything that I’ve known
But though your love has been my salvation
I fear it may yet be my damnation
So prove me wrong and hold me near
Show me I have nothing to fear
Taking a Chance
Vision skewed and thoughts so dark
Searching, desperate, for that spark
To light her way through this place
And through the dark she will race
What she sees ahead can’t be real
Those hands reaching out that would steal
The heart that beats within her chest
And yet her soul feels such unrest
Unsure of the path she should take
Thinking of all that is at stake
Slowing down and breathing deep
With only faith she must leap
Within The Flames
The flames consume all in its way
Making the night as bright as day
But the fire is nothing to fear
Though you feel the heat as it draws near
Watch as it dances in the sky
Finding such freedom there up high
Moving and swaying without a care
Breathing and sighing in the night air
Don’t live your life hiding in ice
These flames of love may not come twice
So in your heart let the fire burn
And in your soul let freedom return
New Sun Rising
In all the days that have gone by
So many nights alone to cry
But so many days that lay ahead
That to her surprise she does not dread
She will not face those days alone
In her heart a new light has shone
Like the morning sun as it rises
Each moment filled with more surprises
An unknown world coming to light
That’s so full of joy shining bright
Reckless
My heart I give without reserve
No longer hiding to preserve
A lonely heart behind a wall
That once was built to stand so tall
Let it tumble and love flow free
And let us love so recklessly
Time will pass and others may fade
But from your side I won’t be swayed
Together we will always rise above
With the wings of unconditional love
