Fear

hidden pain - flickr by a visual invasion

Give her a reason to forget the past
And make her believe that something can last
Tell her why she should let go of the fear
And let her know that she’d cried her last tear

She suffers in memories of the pain
Knowing only the tears that fall like rain
Still feeling each blow that took her belief
And left her lying shattered in the grief

She tries to get up but she’s pulled back in
Crushing her hope that she can ever win
So give her reason to believe this time
That she’ll be safe when from this hole she climbs

Past to Future

Tenderness and love are all I knew
In the past when it was me and you
But life never fair took you away
And on your own path you went your way
But Fate undaunted has led you back
To finally give us what we lack
For every twist that we’ve made it through
Made us stronger than we ever knew
And with those strengths we can surely last
As we head to a future so vast

Try And Try

Go ahead, you can do your worst
I’m not the one who’ll end up cursed
You’ll lash out but you’ll always miss
I’ll always be better than this
You try to drag me into your hell
You think I’m living under your shell
But I’ve broken free, no longer yours
On that past I have closed all the doors
So try you may and try you might
I’m not dreaming of you tonight

Within

I stand tall all on my own
Upon my face strength is shown
But deep within so much more
Lies locked behind this closed door
These words I offer are the key
For the world to finally see
That within my walls I’m still scared
That by this world I won’t be spared
For its ravenous appetite
It won’t hear my desperate plight
For it to pass me by next time
And let me continue my climb
Out of the hole of my past
So I may be free at last

Life’s Path

My mind wanders to the past
Things that pass us by so fast
What has made us who we are
Knowing we have come so far
Our lives we build upon what’s been
On every tear and every grin
Each person we meet builds our story
Some do it with gloom, some with glory
Our focus we must keep on the good
And not on being misunderstood
But we strive each and every day
To find the strength for us to stay
Upon this earth to experience more
Of what our different lives have in store

Dark Horizon

Tears fall so easily from her green eyes
Carrying all of the pain and the lies
Feelings are boiling and erupting within
Over all that will be and all that has been
Memories of the past so dark and battered
Her dreams for the future are torn and tattered
The pieces flutter as they fly away
Her future now unknown to her dismay
To a bleak horizon she looks ahead
For the sun to shine and erase this dread
