Beast Within

There’s a monster she hides deep within
It holds the pain of all that has been
But it begs to be set free
For the world to finally see
With teeth and claws it rips and shreds
And it brings to light all she dreads
The beast within her is now awake
The peace it gave her it now will take

Endless Journey

In all the world, not one can claim
To truly know her deepest shame
Or know the path that has led her here
By its twisted pain and jagged fear
She seeks comfort but to no avail
With each attempt she will only fail
So all alone she will search for peace
On this journey that will never cease

Finding Peace

Staring deep into those eyes
She can see her own demise
Her dreams are crashing to an end
Broken pieces that she can’t mend
The shattered pieces beneath her feet
Cut with memories that are so sweet
And though these wounds go so deep
Upon this path she will keep
For the sweetness soothes her mind
And therein peace she can find

Morning Light

Waking slowly to the morning light
And greeted by such a pleasant sight
As you lay sleeping so peacefully
Finding your arms wrapped tight around me
Thinking this could be heaven on earth
And you may never know what it’s worth
To have you at last by my side
Never again have a need to hide

Poison or Remedy?

She doesn’t know what the future may bring
Is it poison or love in that sharp sting?
Her strength seems gone and yet it remains
As the toxin courses through her veins
Heart beating faster every day
Not even slowing as she lay
Her heavy head down upon his chest
And closing her eyes for a brief rest
Her heart finally quiets with his touch
To that peace he brings she’ll forever clutch

Refuge

Tantalizing lips and kisses so sweet
Eyes so green that are devoid of deceit
And arms so strong to keep me secure
No harm to fear when you reassure
When I’m so close to you I will find peace
And the fears within will finally cease
And I’ll give you all that you’ve longed for
I can give you love and so much more

Second Glance

Eyes as deep as the ocean floor
Always seeking, looking for more
Full of wonder, but full of doubt
Always looking for a way out
The seek solace and they seek peace
Within this life they seek release
Pain and suffering all around
And there’s so much hope that has drowned
They see all the world can do
And they shed a tear at the view
But they wait, give another chance
The world’s not seen in just one glance

Take

Let me sink, just let me go
But this quicksand works so slow
Please take this breath from my chest
It’s jagged draw I detest
And take this beat from my heart
Before it just bursts apart
Remove the touch from my skin
For it has grown much too thin
Please take the sight from my eyes
So I’ll witness no more lies
Give me silence evermore
And grant me peace to my core
With senses gone I can rest
Finally end this endless quest

Just Hold Her

He lies beside her watching as she dreams
All he can do is hold her when she screams
He watches her close as the dreams begin
He knows she is fighting demons within
Their causes and source she’s never revealed
The tragedy of past she keeps concealed
He aches so deep to fight in her place
So this pain one day she can erase
So each night he holds her tighter still
Until that day peace he can instill

Seeking Peace

What I seek but I don’t find
The peace I need for this mind
Always close yet so far away
Just on the edge it blows away
Again and again it take flight
And it flies away out of sight
So I wait for it to come back
This one thing within that I lack
