One Last Dance

dancing - flickr by Lorenia

So many times she’s been knocked down
Left all alone there on the ground
Cold and trembling upon the floor
Is this all that Fate has in store?
She longs to hope, too scared to try
But then that look within his eye
Begs her to take just one more chance
Fall in his arms, give him this dance

Sweet Visions

sleeping - flickr by Grevel

Spoken softly into the night
Though in the dark, he speaks of light
Promises of brighter days
Are only words in the haze
Of sleep and wake within her mind
Stirring dreams of a tender kind
Replacing nightmares that used to haunt
With sweeter visions that seem to taunt
In a love so true she just can’t conceive
But he won’t give up making her believe

Fear

hidden pain - flickr by a visual invasion

Give her a reason to forget the past
And make her believe that something can last
Tell her why she should let go of the fear
And let her know that she’d cried her last tear

She suffers in memories of the pain
Knowing only the tears that fall like rain
Still feeling each blow that took her belief
And left her lying shattered in the grief

She tries to get up but she’s pulled back in
Crushing her hope that she can ever win
So give her reason to believe this time
That she’ll be safe when from this hole she climbs

From The Ashes

fallen angel - flickr by chiaralily

Through the chaos of her life
All the struggles and the strife
She’s risen up from the ash
Though pale and weak from the crash
The flames still licking at her feet
Despite her fear there’s no retreat
She must go on, she can’t sit still
Lest the fire consume her will
Strength is hers, she must hold it tight
So it may bring her to the light

No Surrender

ice - flickr by DesolationSmile

He can feel the ice that runs in her veins
But he holds the key to unlock her chains
To ignite the fire that burns so cold
And see all her secrets as they unfold
She fights against it with all of her might
But within she knows it’s a losing fight
Though this may be one she’d rather not win
She can’t surrender and she can’t give in

With Each Day

sunrise - flickr by AtomDocs

Though she has wounds that may never heal
Deep within she continues to feel
Time moves on and the days pass by
And with each there’s less tears to cry
Little by little, her hope renewed
But deep within it remains subdued
Waiting so patient for the day
That all her doubts will go away

Unrestrained

She won’t be controlled, she won’t be contained
This life that she lives no longer restrained
She stretches her wings, though tender and sore
Slowly lifting them up off of the floor
There’s a new light shining within her eyes
The fear that once ruled here she now defies
Standing up taller with each passing day
She’s now the hunter, no longer the prey

Another Life

Take this life, I want no more
It has burned me to the core
Give me another in its place
And of this one please leave no trace
Take all the memories and the pain
And let them fade away like the rain
Take the darkness and leave the light
Carve me a path out of this fight
And for once just let me rest
Subject me to no more tests

Dream To Hope

She dreams to hope once again
To feel something deep within
For numbness and cold to finally pass
No longer to just look through the glass
At a world happy and content
To finally feel that she is meant
To feel all the things that others feel
To finally know what it is to heal

A Thousand Times

She walks through life pretending it’s not real
Shutting down her heart so that she won’t feel
But broken pieces will try to mend
Though they will always fail in the end
For they’ve been broken a thousand times
Their jagged edges all that defines
The path of her life and what remains
A future that’s bleak and bound in chains
