Dark Journey

Reality cuts deep, her innocence dies
All of the wonder is now gone from her eyes
A shell is left, so empty and hollow
And no path is lit for her to follow
Through the dark alone she will stumble
Hoping each step that she won’t crumble
From all of the weight that’s on her now
This pain and fear she can’t allow
On she goes, seeking release
Hoping for the pain to cease

Illusions

Fire burning dim in her eyes
As she sees through all of the lies
The reality becoming clear
As she tries to grasp what she holds dear
But all the illusions turn to smoke
And with each breath she begins to choke
Until she can breathe no more
And falls slowly to the floor

No Mercy

Show her no mercy, spare her no pain
Take the last of what has kept her sane
Take the light and the solace it gives
Leave her now in this darkness that lives
With its breath hot upon her neck
And eyes just a shimmering speck
She hears it’s steps moving so quick
Or is that noise just her mind’s trick
She no longer knows what’s real or not
Within this web of life that she’s caught
