Oh how she aches to be free
From all of life’s tragedy
To grow wings and fly away
Into skies not touched by gray
Where she could soar way up high
Touch the sun that lights the sky
Visit the moon and the stars
Have them erase all her scars
Feeling freedom on her face
As she finally takes her place
Among the clouds, soft and white
Where she can dance with delight
But she wakes and finds again
This life that she’s trapped within

Changes
Seasons come and seasons go
With a perpetual flow
Like the oceans rise and fall
Heeding to the lunar call
And the sun will rise and set
On a path that’s just offset
My dreams the same, I watch them fade
Although their price I thought I paid
With my blood and with my tears
And all I’ve lost through the years
But it seems Fate still wants more
To give me what I ask for
The Wind
A cold wind that passes through the night
Unseen by even the brightest light
But its presence is felt so very strong
And so loudly it whistles its sad song
If you listen closely you just may hear
How much it wishes to be one held dear
Like the rays of the sun we let caress our skin
Or the soft moonlight that we so often bask in
Even the rain and snow when it falls soft and light
That we dance in as imagination takes flight
But no love is shown for this ice-cold wind
As we wear our hats and coats to defend
And so it moans on so woefully
And resigns itself so hopelessly
