Falling Within

No one to catch her as she falls
And within her the darkness calls
A soothing lullaby in her ear
Making her forget all of her fear
Within herself she’ll fall deeper
The walls outside growing steeper
To live her days in this solitude
Where her pain and fear can be subdued

Within

I stand tall all on my own
Upon my face strength is shown
But deep within so much more
Lies locked behind this closed door
These words I offer are the key
For the world to finally see
That within my walls I’m still scared
That by this world I won’t be spared
For its ravenous appetite
It won’t hear my desperate plight
For it to pass me by next time
And let me continue my climb
Out of the hole of my past
So I may be free at last

The Walls

The walls close in, so hard to breathe
Fighting against the urge to seethe
So lonely here within these walls
Inside of them a darkness falls
No tender voice falls upon these ears
And no kind face to assuage these fears
The pain of this body continues on
It never seems to be completely gone
More and more my sanity slips
Light now hidden by an eclipse
