Her tears flowing gently down
But on her face there’s no frown
That glistening trail leads to a smile
As she sees her pain has been worthwhile
For all the trials and all the tests
Have brought her here where true love crests
And in its glow she can finally bloom
For her heart’s broken wings now have room
To finally heal and open wide
To the ground she’s no longer tied
Watch her soar now, wild and free
Higher than the tallest tree

My heart I give without reserve
No longer hiding to preserve
A lonely heart behind a wall
That once was built to stand so tall
Let it tumble and love flow free
And let us love so recklessly
Time will pass and others may fade
But from your side I won’t be swayed
Together we will always rise above
With the wings of unconditional love

Oh how she aches to be free
From all of life’s tragedy
To grow wings and fly away
Into skies not touched by gray
Where she could soar way up high
Touch the sun that lights the sky
Visit the moon and the stars
Have them erase all her scars
Feeling freedom on her face
As she finally takes her place
Among the clouds, soft and white
Where she can dance with delight
But she wakes and finds again
This life that she’s trapped within

His fangs so long, glow so bright
As they are bared to the light
They are strong and they are fierce
Into your flesh they will pierce
Across forked tongue flames will roll
Inside lives a darkened soul
His wings now spread open wide
Your fear quaking deep inside
Upon your knees you await
Which death will become your fate
Will it be by glossy teeth
Sharp as sword pulled from its sheath
Or by claws that rip and tear
With anger that will not spare
Would the fire now consume
Bringing forth your certain doom
And those wings that blot the sun
Surely show your death’s begun
For your trespass you will pay
This will be your dying day
See the beast you stand before
And hear now the dragon’s roar

The tension keeps me on the edge
Pins and needles cover the ledge
Making it hard to hold my ground
When it’s pain I see all around
Seeking wings to fly far away
So I can rise above the fray
And fly so far to lands unknown
Where only joy and love are grown
But without this pain how would we know
What it’s really like to feel love grow
